CallMeHelp

Intelligent, respectful, and community-driven oversight for independent living.

The Challenge of Independent Living

Many of us constantly worry about family members who live alone. The nightmare of a loved one lying in distress on the floor or unconscious in bed is a quiet anxiety shared by millions of families.

As our society ages, the burden of oversight often falls on fewer shoulders—shoulders that may reside in another city or country. While living alone is fulfilling and healthy, a persistent schedule of "check-up" calls twice a day can feel intrusive. Traditional panic buttons provide a basic fallback, but they require the individual to be conscious to use them and are rarely ideal for active, fit seniors.

Where Current Solutions Fall Short

  • Intrusive Monitoring: Daily phone calls often feel like a compromise on privacy and personal space.
  • Manual Panic Buttons: Offer no safety if the individual is incapacitated, dizzy, or unable to reach their lanyard.
  • Distant Networks: Physical distance prevents friends and family from noticing the daily habits that indicate a shift in health.

The "e-Neighbourhood" Concept

CallMeHelp introduces a seamless blend of smart, passive behavioral oversight and a private, secure social support system. It gives loved ones total independence, stepping in only when things go wrong.

Passive & Non-Intrusive

No buttons to wear or press. The system quietly monitors normal daily patterns (like movement or phone activity) to ensure everything is okay.

Mobilized Support

If an expected daily milestone is missed, the system immediately reaches out to your customized private social network, alerting local friends, neighbors, or carers.

Pre-emptive Warnings

Our technology flags subtle behavioral shifts, serving as a vital early-warning indicator before minor issues escalate into medical emergencies.

The Early Warning Project

Before someone experiences a medical emergency, their day-to-day patterns usually drift. They may sleep more during the day, rise later, or experience restless nights.

Data from home energy and activity projects has proven that these behavioral changes can begin up to three weeks before a hospital admission. CallMeHelp seeks to validate this research on a wider scale by tracking 110 monitored individuals over 18 months, converting these predictive daily shifts into training data for intelligent machine learning models.

The Science of Predictive Support

By capturing simple, anonymous behavioral data, we aim to intercept health declines before an ambulance is ever called. Transitioning from reactive panic-buttons to proactive early-warning networks keeps active seniors in their own homes longer and significantly reduces emergency admissions.

Support the Project

CallMeHelp was developed by an experienced technologist who lives alone in the 65+ age cohort. As we move this platform into its next stage of development, we are actively looking for partners and champions to help bring it to scale.
